The stories of young heroes:

Dear donor,

Due to your donations, we continue to support the young experts of the new generation. Armenian communities are full of problems and young journalists want to address these issues and live in a powerful and stable community. We call them "little heroes" because they have a great influence on community empowerment. This time we want you to get acquainted with the beneficiaries closer and present you their stories. In the pictures are Marine and Tamara. They live in Ararat province. Marine is a purposeful, communicative girl, and which is most important, she is interested in her environment. She likes to participate in informal classes, gain new knowledge and skills. Participating in non-formal training, she is now able to voice community issues and think about innovative solutions. Tamara also lives in a community that has many problems. Although facing a variety of challenges, she continues to overcome difficulties and move forward. She enjoys painting and composing in her free time. The main goal of the project is to help the active youth of Armenia to make their voices louder and solve the problems of the community. All this can be achieved when beneficiaries have the opportunity to participate in non-formal trainings, interactive meetings, where they will have the opportunity to express their ideas freely and not constrained. Due to you the problems and challenges of the community become more visible day by day and the perceptions of the young people on the community idea change.

Dear donor,

We want to introduce you Mary's creative image of our beneficiaries. She has created a hero who is always interested in community problems. Here is Lui and his story. Hi, I'm Lui. I live in Vanadzor. I have been created to make all the communities in Armenia more interesting and colorful. I have many friends, but I always welcome new ones with pleasure and smile. I like to participate in discussions, interesting topics. The community is my priority and I am always with the community. I hope in the near future everyone will know me and together we will be able to build a stable and strong society. Once again thank you. We want to share with you an important day and see you and your love. Here it is.

Dear friends and supporters,

Thanks to you, we continue to implement this program in remote communities of Armenia. Our year-end holidays are approaching and our beneficiaries are eagerly waiting for your response.
Your every gesture is important for the children. Armenian children are waiting for you.

Dear donor,
We would love to tell you about the two beneficiaries in the picture and especially share the successes the author of which are you. Their lives have already changed due to you.

Abraham and Victoria live in Khor Virap village of Ararat region. They are friends and they study at the secondary school after Margar Hovhannisyan in Khor Virap. Living in hard and difficult situations, the children performed a variety of physical work instead of going to school. As a result, they missed the education-related courses, they were ashamed to communicate freely with their classmates and, of course, they have difficulty overcoming the challenges. The psychological picture of Abraham and Victoria was also painful. They felt constrained, indifferent, and non-communicative. They changed their daily lives after this program. Participating in non-formal methodology, they completed their missed knowledge and, which is the most important they became an important part of their community. This is one of the best examples of high impact on this program. Now they are confident that they have changed.
The goal of the program is to help the children left without education to give them the opportunity to complete the missed knowledge. All this is going on. Our team met with new beneficiaries who joined the program. Through the posters, participants demonstrated the importance of education, its role in their lives, how they can succeed through education and have a favorite profession. In the pictures, you see their smiles. Each of them is a personality and a new wave of this world. The followings are the topics assigned to the beneficiaries: «Why education is important to me», and «Education is the key to success»: The meeting allowed children to communicate with others and think about the importance of education. They were delighted to share their ideas and suggestions. The topics were inspirational for the participants.
Once again thank you. We want to share with you an important day and see you and your love. Here it is.

The Response of the Project's New Beneficiaries:

Dear donor,

Thanks to you, we continue to implement this program in remote communities of Armenia. This time, 10 beneficiaries from Yerevan's N194 School joined the project. We are ready to share the impressions and responses of our new participants with you.
The goal of the program is to help the children left without education. Give them the opportunity to complete the missed knowledge.
A part of the children of our target group, living in socially difficult conditions, performs a variety of hard work, sometimes even they get isolated from their friends, which leads to the lack of capacity, intolerance, and lack of ability to work in the team.
Our working group welcomed the new beneficiaries at "Zartonk-89" NGO's office. They listened about the impact of the program and the reported successes with great enthusiasm.
For the first time, the new participants of Yerevan took part in the meeting.
We'd selected topics for individual and group work in advance.
The topic of individual work was "My School" and the topic of group work was "How to Empower My Community with Education" and "How Can I Help My Friend with My Knowledge"
The meeting started with a separate section of individual work.
Through images, the beneficiaries illustrated their school, their teachers, and the environment where they learn. Each participant presented their work in their own way.
This was a great opportunity to understand the satisfaction of the participants from the educational environment. The next important fact was that by presenting their works they began to know one another better.
During the group work, the participants were divided into groups. The children of the first group described the steps through which the community could be empowered. They were sure that education was the best tool for a powerful community.
The children of the second group described how they could help their friends through education.
The participants liked these interesting topics. They used creative elements in their works.
The work was carried on along with discussions and exchange of ideas. Teams presented their works in the end. At the end of the meeting, an agreement was made to provide feedback and periodically inform the news about the program. They returned with enthusiasm and expressed willingness to inform their friends about the project.
Dear donor,
Once again, we are pleased to mention that thanks to your support for this project, the solution to the problem of children's education in Armenia is in process. You have created a strong and stable connection among our beneficiaries. This time 10 beneficiaries had an opportunity to smile and be involved.
Your every gesture is encouraging for children in Armenia.
We present you Yana's story and a message addressed to donors.
Hi, my name is Yana. I am twelve years old. I study in the 7th grade. Let me tell you a little about myself. The participation in this program made me less constrained and I can work freely in the team and share my ideas with my friends. In free time I love to paint and dance. This program helped me to enrich my knowledge and develop my skills. I became less constrained, communicative and courageous. I also acquired new friends.
I am grateful to all donors and those who try to make our dreams come true. Thank you.

The use of innovative ideas in communities:

Dear donor,
It is our pleasure to report you that owing to your support we continue to organize interactive meetings for young journalists. At This time within the framework of non-formal learning methodology, our young experts had an opportunity to raise their communities’ issues and suggest solutions through the medium of IT and Journalism. The aim of the meeting was to see how ben
eficiaries ready to have participation in their communities sustainable development process.
The objective of the project was to evaluate and assist the youth in engagement of the community development process.
For making the meeting more interesting and productive the participants were divided into two teams and were assigned the following tasks.
The first team designed a poster, titled: “Journalism as a tool to raise and solve community issues”. They showed community problems through images and offered solutions by using tools of journalism. They offered to engage community people, local self-government bodies, funding and non-governmental organizations and volunteers to have participation in the problem solution process.
The second team named the poster: “Raising and solving community problems through IT”.
Our beneficiaries applied images of modern technology through which they can raise, share and solve their community problems. Due to social networks and Mass media, they tried to explore
and disseminate community problems and by that means find donors and supporters.
The teams presented their works: as a problem solution result, they wanted to see their community well developed, prosperous and with high living standards.
They stated that it is possible to use journalism tools and IT sector as a means of solving community problems.
Dear donors,
We continue to allocate your donated funds to support these active and enterprising young people. The community has a lot of problems but they believe in their skills and are ready to use the power of unity.
One of our beneficiaries Hasmik wanted to send her message and share her impressions with donors.
Hello, I am Hasmik. I liked this meeting very much as I had an opportunity to share what I knew and improve my knowledge level. In my opinion, this kind of meetings are instructive and the best way to keep in touch with other community friends. It is good way to share knowledge and skills with others of the same age from different communities. Thank you supporters and donors it is with your kind support that we had an opportunity to have memorable and instructive day.

Project Success Summary:

Dear Donor

Owing to your help we continue to support school-aged children in the remote regions of Armenia. We are happy to share with you the success and progress that we have recorded among our beneficiaries.
The aim of this Project is to help children fill the knowledge gap they have, so that they can have the opportunity to choose their future professions, to express themselves freely in teamwork, to get in touch with their peers.
Summer Holidays caused children to be partially isolated from the educational environment, so in order they can be more engaged in it, we organized a meeting in Yerevan for our beneficiaries, entitled “My Future Profession”.
On July 19, at the “Zartonk-89” NGO, the Project Task Force hosted the participants from different Armenian Regions.
The topic “My Future Profession” was chosen prior to the meeting. It was welcomed by everyone and we had quite interesting and meaningful discussion together. As mentioned above, the beneficiaries were from different Armenian regions and did not know each other. First they got acquainted with each other; thereafter they began to communicate freely.
At first they were given and interesting task to do – presenting themselves, their skills, interests and their future dreams. This helps children know each other better and work in a collaborative atmosphere.
Then the main topic “My Future Profession” also accompanying questions were presented to our beneficiaries. Each of them was able to present and describe their future goal – their profession and to give complete answers to the questions presented below:

  • What you see as your future profession?
  • What do you need to succeed in your future goal?
  • How can we help you within the framework of “Providing education for 150 children in Armenia” to succeed in your professional choice?
  • What are the specifics of your professional choice (Why)?

Dear Donor,
Once again, we are pleased to mention your assistance and support to this project. You have laid a solid background, developed warm relations and connections between our beneficiaries. This time ten beneficiaries had the opportunity to share their boundless joy and their stories about their future professional choice.
We hope that we’ll have more opportunities to share our expected, succeeded outcomes with you.
Below we present Meline’s story and message to our donors:

Hello everyone!
My name is Meline. I am fourteen years old. I study at secondary school, 9-th grade. I want to tell you a bit more about me and my engagement in this project owing to which I can freely express myself and my future goals. I dream of becoming a dancer. In my free time I like to dance and to draw. I dream of becoming a professional dancer to present the charms of Armenian National dances to the world. This project gave me skills, knowledge to be more communicative, courageous and free.
We are grateful to our donors who help us in making our dreams come true.

Expanding the Young Experts Team:

Dear donor,
Due to your high impact on this program, we continue to support the young journalists of the new generation. They are regularly being trained and updated on contemporary technologies as well as the rules of civic journalism. As young people are the main part of the community, we aim to help them gain the necessary knowledge and skills during interactive meetings.
Beneficiaries of this program are continuously informed about the situation in their community and, of course, look for relevant mechanisms to raise and spread the challenges and issues that exist. Therefore, during non-formal methodologies, participants have the opportunity to express their opinions and ideas freely. The next important point we would like to mention is that beneficiaries receive appropriate educational resources and tools.
This time we organized a meeting with young experts entitled "Community Problems and Social Impact". The tutor presented them on how to collect data and use them for their research. Sometimes difficulties arise to get the necessary information, but you have to be able to effectively use the available resources.
The next part of the meeting was dedicated to the social impact. They got acquainted with this term and understood why it is important to measure the social impact. It was also presented that the Impact Stories format can be used to assess the social impact and answer the following questions: Where? What? Who? How? Results? This is very important because we have the opportunity to listen to our audience, engage with community leaders and of course see our progress and achievements. They also got acquainted with the idea of  "learn from failure", that is, one should not be ashamed to admit the failures that arise during their activities but they need to show them and understand how to use them to measure the progress they have made.
The last part of the meeting was dedicated to teamwork. In this section,  beneficiaries used a Toolkit. Each presented their point of view on the work being presented. During the meeting, they also discussed the advantages of team performance and what are the conditions of Team Building.
Dear donors,
Your commitment to this program is very important to us and we are glad to inform you about the achievements that are becoming more and more visible from time to time. Armenian communities are full of problems, but the key to their solution is in the hands of young people.
Our new beneficiary of this project, Alina, wanted to send her small message to donors.
Hi, I'm Alina. I participate in this program for the first time. In this team,  I feel very good because I learn interesting and important things. Now, I'm ready to use my abilities in favor of the community where I live. I thank all donors and would like to see the continuation of this program. Thank you.
